What's the most exhausting part of HR?
Not interviewing — 10 interviews a day max, done when done. The most exhausting is resume screening.
A hot job posting gets 200 resumes a day. Each PDF needs opening — check education, experience, salary expectations, commute distance. Eyes glaze over by resume #50. Great candidates get missed due to fatigue; mediocre ones get picked due to bias.
Then interview scheduling — coordinate times with candidates and interviewers, send confirmation emails, reschedule, reconfirm, book meeting rooms. Average: 5-8 emails per candidate.

Difference from Recruitment Platforms
Boss Zhipin/Zhilian. Platform resume screening is keyword-based — resume contains "Java" → matches Java position. But "Java" in project experience vs. coursework means very different things. Agent understands context — distinguishes "3 years Java project experience" from "took a Java class in college."
ATS Systems (Moka, Beisen). Full-featured but expensive — SaaS annual fees ¥10,000-100,000+, unaffordable for SMBs. A1 hardware ¥999, Agent self-configured, zero annual fee.
Manual Screening. Humans fatigue, have unconscious bias (985 university = automatic bonus, non-Bachelor's = automatic penalty). Agent scores objectively per preset criteria — won't relax experience scrutiny just because of a prestigious school.
A Rational View
Resume parsing accuracy isn't 100%. PDFs vary wildly — some are image-based (scanned), requiring OCR. Complex layouts (multi-column, mixed tables) may cause errors. Recommend quick manual review of top-scored candidates.
Scheduling depends on email. If candidates don't check email promptly, the flow stalls. Recommend sending both email and SMS notifications.
Can't replace the interview itself. Agent screens resumes, schedules interviews, collects feedback — but judging whether someone is a good fit still needs humans. Agent solves process efficiency, not decision-making. To learn more, visit the homepage.
