NVIDIA's $4,999 DGX Spark Puts a 100B-Class Model on Your Desk — and Votes for Local AI

📖 Glossary

AI Box (also known as Agent Computer / Agent PC), is a dedicated local hardware device that runs AI Agents. Pre-installed with an AI agent management system, plug-and-play, running 24/7. Users can remotely command AI to work via Discord, Slack, Telegram, WhatsApp, and more.

Summary: NVIDIA just cast another vote for local AI with a $4,999 desktop supercomputer — but that machine is built for developers who know CUDA. KAIHE AIBOX takes a different path: a 24/7, no-code agent computer that schedules the best cloud models and works while you don't.

A $4,999 vote for local AI

On October 2, NVIDIA officially launched the 64GB version of DGX Spark, a desktop AI supercomputer priced from $4,999 (the 128GB Founders Edition was also repriced to $6,950). It ships on October 23.

This is not NVIDIA's first hardware vote for on-device AI. The company shipped the original 128GB DGX Spark last October. Now it has cut the entry price to $4,999 — a clear signal that running large models on your own desk should move out of research labs and onto more developers' desks.

Look at the specs. DGX Spark is built on the GB10 Grace Blackwell superchip, pairing a 20-core Arm CPU with a Blackwell-architecture GPU and up to 1 PFLOP of FP4 compute. The 64GB model carries 64GB of LPDDR5X unified memory; after system reservation, roughly 56GB is available for model weights and KV cache. With NVFP4 quantization, a single unit can hold 100B-class models in local memory, while mainstream open models such as Gemma 4 26B, Qwen3.8-27B, and Nemotron 3.5 Lightning run comfortably out of the box.

Figure

It also packs a ConnectX-7 SmartNIC and can cluster up to four units, letting a pair of machines lift the usable parameter count well beyond what a single box can hold. On the OEM side, Acer, Dell, ASUS, Gigabyte, MSI, and H3C are all preparing full systems.

What this signal means for everyone else

NVIDIA, Meta, Google, and Alibaba all leaned into always-on local AI within roughly the same week. That is not a coincidence.

Open-source models are getting stronger and smaller at the same time. Three years ago, running a frontier model locally was fantasy; today a single desktop unit handles 27B-class models, and 100B-class inference is within reach. Once compute and model size stop being the bottleneck, the real question surfaces:

Models keep getting better and cheaper, but you cannot sit at a keyboard around the clock to operate them by hand.

For a developer, DGX Spark is a precise instrument — but you need to know CUDA, vLLM, and model quantization. For the vast majority of people who simply want AI to get work done, that learning curve remains steep.

KAIHE AIBOX, a dedicated agent computer, takes the other road.

Two roads, two choices

DGX Spark KAIHE AIBOX
Target user Developers, researchers Everyday users, creators
Barrier to entry Requires CUDA/vLLM skills Zero code, works out of the box
How it runs Manual model deployment Runs agents locally, schedules the best cloud models
Work rhythm Needs your active involvement Runs 24/7, without occupying your PC

Figure

It keeps a simpler promise: run agents locally, schedule the best cloud models for you, and work 24/7 on its own.

You hand off a task at your desk during the day, and it keeps going through the night, automatically catching cheaper off-peak cloud compute. The hardware and the agent system are a one-time purchase, with no recurring software subscription; the agent schedules and batches tasks so token cost falls the more you use it.

Big tech validates the lane; KAIHE AIBOX lowers the door

With that $4,999 price tag, NVIDIA has confirmed one thing: the future of AI is, with certainty, local.

But the company that validates a lane and the product that lowers the door to everyone's feet are rarely the same thing. DGX Spark drove down the cost of running large models locally. Giving a non-technical person a dedicated 24/7 agent computer that does real work — that is what KAIHE AIBOX is doing.

You do not need to become the developer who deploys models. You only need to answer one question: what do you want your AI to finish for you tonight?
