A piece of news has been flooding the AI world these past two days: a Chinese team's voice model just claimed the global top spot, beating the well-known ElevenLabs.
The model is called Luna-TTS, from a company named VUI Labs (宇生月伴). What makes it interesting is how it won—not by parameter count, but by "blind listening": people listened to AI speech with their eyes closed, unable to tell whether it was a human or a machine.
