One Device, All Models: Kaihe AIBOX Supports GPT/Claude/DeepSeek/Doubao — Switch Freely by Task
📖 Glossary
AI Box (also known as Agent Computer / Agent PC), is a dedicated local hardware device that runs AI Agents. Pre-installed with an AI agent management system, plug-and-play, running 24/7. Users can remotely command AI to work via Discord, Slack, Telegram, WhatsApp, and more.
Abstract: Kaihe AIBOX comes pre-installed with OpenClaw and Hermes, supporting all mainstream large model APIs. Code with Claude, write with GPT, Chinese Q&A with DeepSeek or Doubao — automatically switch models based on task scenario. Agents schedule locally, models infer in the cloud, balancing privacy and performance.
Large language models keep multiplying — GPT, Claude, DeepSeek, Doubao, Gemini, Qwen... Each has its specialty.
GPT excels at English writing and general reasoning. Claude shines in long-form analysis and code generation. DeepSeek handles Chinese understanding and mathematical reasoning well. Doubao is strong at Chinese conversation and daily Q&A.
The problem: which one do you use? Most people pick one — subscribe to GPT at $20/month, Claude at $20/month, or use a free Chinese model. Want multiple? You need separate accounts across separate apps, switching constantly.
Kaihe AIBOX solves one problem: one device, all models, automatically selecting the best fit for each task.
How It Works
Kaihe AIBOX comes pre-installed with OpenClaw and Hermes. OpenClaw handles Agent execution and message routing. Hermes handles inter-Agent task orchestration.
In OpenClaw's Agent configuration, you can assign different inference models to each Agent —

The coding Agent uses Claude, because Claude's code understanding and generation capability is widely recognized as the strongest.
The copywriting Agent uses GPT, because GPT's English writing quality and creative expression are top-tier.
The Chinese Q&A Agent uses DeepSeek or Doubao, because Chinese models understand Chinese context more naturally.
The data analysis Agent uses GPT, because GPT's data reasoning and table processing are reliable.
You don't need to switch manually — the Agent automatically selects the configured model based on task type. You just tell the Agent what you need: "Write a Python script" → Agent calls Claude automatically. "Write an English email" → Agent calls GPT. "Analyze these sales figures" → Agent calls GPT.
Send one message on WeChat. The Agent selects the model, runs inference, and returns results. You don't need to know which model was used — you only need to see whether the result is good.
Data Flow
Some ask: if models infer in the cloud, isn't data still leaving the device?
Yes — inference does happen in the cloud. But the key distinction: data leaves the device "on demand," not "forever on the cloud."
The specific process:
- You send a message to the Agent via WeChat
- The Agent locally parses your intent and task
- The Agent selects the most appropriate model API based on task type
- Only the content needed for inference (your question + relevant context) is sent via encrypted API channel to the cloud
- The cloud model returns inference results
- Results come back to the Agent, which locally integrates and processes them, pushing the final answer to your WeChat
- Your complete conversation history, Agent execution logs, and task records all remain on the local device

Compare this to pure cloud AI assistants — all your conversations, uploaded files, and history are permanently stored on the cloud. Kaihe AIBOX's approach is "inference goes to the cloud, data stays local" — the cloud only sees the current inference request, never your complete conversation history or file archives.
This is a compromise: using cloud compute power for the strongest inference capability, while keeping data sovereignty on the local device. For most daily scenarios, this is the optimal balance — neither sacrificing AI capability nor abandoning data control.
Cost
Each model API charges per call — GPT approximately $0.03/call, Claude approximately $0.03/call, DeepSeek cheaper. Typical daily usage runs about $0.50-1.00 in API fees, roughly $15-30/month.
Compare subscribing to multiple platforms separately: - GPT Plus: $20/month - Claude Pro: $20/month - DeepSeek: pay-per-use but inexpensive - Using two or more: $40+/month
Through Agent-coordinated API calls, you only pay for the inference you actually use — no full-month subscription needed. Less usage means less spending; more usage doesn't exceed subscription fees.
Moreover, the Agent intelligently selects models — simple Chinese Q&A uses cheaper domestic models, complex reasoning uses stronger ones. Not every task needs GPT — most daily tasks are handled fine by domestic models, saving about 70% of API costs. To learn more, visit the homepage.
